To sell or to develop a domain….

This item was filled under [ domaining ]

When you manage to get your hands on a good domain having a lot of search traffic, what should you do? For example, last week I hand-registered a domain by the name nailcuticle(dot)com which is a 1 (or 2 depending on how you look at it) word keyword domain which has approximately 12,000 monthly searches on Google. The average CPC is $1,28.

The stats alone would say that this is a really great domain to develop into a profitable mini-site. There are many topic to write about, like product reviews and nail care etc.

This time I’m thinking about trying to cash in by selling the domain instead. This is a bit against my policy at the moment: aggregate as many decent domains as possible, develop into mini-sites and keep if they generate more revenue that regfee.

Well, I’m very tempted to try selling the domain as an auction at Snapnames.com today. I out out a twit about it, asking for help deciding on reserve price and if I should sell using auction or buy now. Let’s see if I get any feedback.

What is your preferred way to sell domains?
